CUCKOO nominated for Hessen Film Award !

We are thrilled to share that Tilman Singer’s CUCKOO has been nominated for this years Hessen Film Award as best feature film.

“Eine junge Frau auf einem Fahrrad allein im Wald, nachts. Die Situation ist aufgeladen, gruselig, ja unheimlich, plötzlich wird sie von einem Schatten überholt. Noch ist nichts passiert und doch ist das Grauen jetzt da! Tilmann Singer gelingt es in „Cuckoo“, dem Horrorgenre neue Bilder hinzuzufügen. Dabei spielt er klug mit Zitaten und Motiven aus der Filmgeschichte. Hunter Schafer ist eine zeitgemäße Heldin, sie ist der Mittelpunkt eines hochkarätigen Ensembles, das Singer großartig inszeniert. „Cuckoo“ ist ästhetisch und inhaltlich gleichermaßen spannend. Das Motiv der Brutparasiten wird hier ergänzt und neu gedacht. Die Ästhetik des Films ist gleichermaßen aus der Zeit gefallen und wahnsinnig modern.“

Cuckoo soundtrack on Vinyl !

Mutant is distributing the eclectic soundtrack from Tilman Singer’s CUCKOO by composer Simon Waskow on vinyl, including a new song by Hunter Schafer.

Mutant, in partnership with Filmtrax and NEON, today presented the premiere physical release of the original soundtrack to Tilman Singer’s critically acclaimed Cuckoo, now in theatres nationwide.

Composer Simon Waskow, who also composed Luz, adds a distinct sound to the film. His music becomes a key narrator to the action on screen, transitioning from intimate and delicate to neck-snappingly loud shots to the eardrums, sending shockwaves through the senses. This truly masterful score deserves to be played as loud as possible.

This limited edition LP features the single “Gretchen’s Song” with vocals by the film’s star, Hunter Schafer and is pressed on blue glitter vinyl. (This new glitter compound doesn’t negatively affect the playing surface of the vinyl, making it 100% safe for your needle!)
